KWizCom SharePoint Tagging Feature provides an extensive taxonomy management solution for SharePoint, supporting all editions including WSS/SharePoint Foundation.
SharePoint 2013-2019 provides some tagging capabilities, but has some basic limitations such as:
- No support for tag-level permissions and approval routing
- No support for tag filtering
- No support for alerts/workflows based on changes made in tags
- Limited capability to tag external web content
- Missing Tag-based navigation tools (such as missing Tag Index web part)
